Corneille Trumelet (1817–1892) was a French colonel. Trumelet spent significant time in the region. He served with the 1st Regiment of Algerian Tirailleurs in Blida. He also commanded the district of Boufarik. This experience shaped his two most referenced works and Colonial Books about the history of the area:

This book focuses on the town’s colonization history. French forces founded Boufarik as a military camp in 1835.
Crucially, the text details the French administration’s challenges and efforts to develop the area. It gives a highly localized view of the colonial project.
